As part of America's comprehensive energy initiative, President Barack Obama recently addressed Wisconsin business leaders and members of Orion Energy Systems at their corporate headquarters in Manitowoc, Wisconsin.
The President said that America, in the heat of growing global competition, has to "up our game" recognizing Orion's CEO Neal Verfuerth as an influential innovator in the energy industry.
"America needs to get behind entrepreneurs like Neal. We need to get behind clean energy companies like Orion. We need to get behind innovation," said Obama. "That's how we'll meet our goal to make sure 80 percent of America's electricity comes from clean energy sources by 2035. That is a goal that we can meet. That is a goal we must meet. This is a place that's been doing what America has always done throughout its history. This (Orion Energy) is the model for the future."
